Update time: I have worked out a deal with the guy for $1,100. I pick the car up tomorrow and trailer it home. The car is pretty clean. I will walk from it if it isn't clean or adjust the offer.
The guy has 19 cars, almost all of them BMWs. Big collector it seems.
Issues with the car are:- Random stalling issue when warm
- Clear coat fade on the passenger side roof and down to the rear quarter
- Leaky exhaust at the catalytic converter that is preventing smog
When he heard of the plans I have he thought it was cool as hell throwing a 6 speed into it. He about went down and bought a new MAF sensor since that might be the issue with the random cutoff. I am pretty sure its electrical and I read that the MAF sensor can cause this problem. Good thing I have a donor car...
Pics will arrive Saturday evening.
