It wasn't like they were damaged washers, it would have costed so much to ship them back, not only did we loose a lot of money but also lost face with customer that had been waiting for them.
There are lots of positives about them for sure, its a shame its let down by basic business sense in handling claims. Its also a culture shock in comparison to what I deal with every day. I supply panel and paint to a large range of customers in my city. If something is damaged it gets returned to the warehouse and the customer refunded without a second thought. If we decided to knock back every damage claim we wouldn't have any customers. You just do it.

I have since spoken to Andrew and assured me the damaged part was thrown out and I should get my stuff soon.. time will tell.

in this case would a claim be possible for a damaged item with c/card? My understanding is if it was a credit card I wouldn't of received any money back at all.

That sucks to hear. What really gets me about situations like this is that no matter what, you're out on shipping charges. Isn't this like a $50 part? You've probably now spent more than that in shipping charges both ways.

I recently bought a guitar that was shipped internationally and arrived to me with undisclosed damage (that could not have possible happened in transit). The seller offered a refund if I shipped it back, though shipping would have cost more than the expense to repair the damage. Add in the loss on initial shipping, and your best course of action is to take a loss. I've probably eaten hundreds of dollars in shipping charges and/or paying for undisclosed damage or "shipping damage" due to things like this over the years.

Best of luck that they do the right thing.

Honestly, any time I've had an issue that was a cc purchase, I call up the associated bank and they do a charge back immediately. Then they investigate and have never failed to find in my favor (Which is honestly because I never dispute unless there is a solid reason to do so, which in this case there clearly is).

I'm not saying this has happened often, but in the 15 years or so that I've been purchasing items online in whatever form (From company websites, through message boards, private purchases) I've probably gone through it about a dozen times. I just feel that you are more protected by the cc than you are with paypal.

So I got the parts.. no damage thankfully.

They packed it a little better but still not in a box. Didn't hear from them regarding paying for the other damaged part either.. so they either expected to get their money from paypal and didnt and gave up or they just wanted to clear up their reputation with paypal.. who knows
