I'm planning on lowering my car....once it drives, who knows when that will be. But anyways, It already has new bilsten HD's in the rear, with the stock shocks up front. I'm not sure what I want to go with, but I dont want it to be SLAMMED. I know that HD's are valved the same as the sports, they're just longer...how much longer though? I figured it would get rid of the "lower in the back" look that most late e30's have because of the lower cut fenders, which I HATE. I like a little rake, would HD's in the rear and sports in the front do that, or would I just blow the HD's?

I have HD's on the rear of my car. After 4 months, not a blown shock with H&R Races. You can run them out back, but not in front.
And before anyone jumps on my ass, I took them out last weekend to change my rear shock mounts to e46 m3 . Not blown.

I really want to see Sports and HD's next to each other. You have to compress the rear shocks so much to bottom them out, I'd wouldn't be surprised if you could run HD's with pretty low springs.
That's just me thinking aloud.
Maybe take one out, measure it (compressed all the way down), and then have someone with a Sport do the same.
