BLOWN diff. Rolls back - but not forward?

So I had a interesting morning. Starting off at a stoplight with a slight incline in first, I let the clutch out(easy) - and BAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMBBBBB - THUMP CRASH CRUNCH!!!!!!

I tried to push it but no go - A 4x4 tried to push my bumper - no go. But I could rool back! WTF? Had the car towed (he had to DRAG my car from the side of the road to hook up the rears and tow it home.

Do diffs lock up in one direction when they go? That doesn't make sence to me.

    Either way, I'm screwed.

    So, Anyone got a Diff? I think a 3.73 or 3.xx LSD sould do (I had a 3.73 LSD)

    Thanks!

If you aren't real anal about gas mileage then you might as well upgrade to a 4.10.

Locally these is a 4:10. But with a m30 it would be WAY to high. I can start in second no prolbem as it is with a 3:73!!!

Ha! - It's not as fun as it sound - It makes an AWEFUL NOISE! It really sounds like your driveshaft is spinning out of control under your car.

I have a 2.93 open - you can have it for shipping and maybe some cash to pay my parents to do it., lol

HAHA, you have your parents work on your car? That is not a bad idea actually.

                LOL NO!

There's no way in hell my parents could even remotely do anything more than suspension - and that's only my dad.

The reason I said that was because I'm leaving for school friday morning and have no time to pack and ship a diff. ;) It's been sitting on the shelf in my garage for a year though, Has 215,000 miles on it and is real dirty, but no rust. Does have a bit of resistance inside.
