Door Map Pockets & Installation...Any Tips???

I'm doing a tan & black combo on my map pockets & I want make sure that I don't have to remove the entire interior door panel when I'm swapping these out.

When I ripped them out of an e30 in a junkyard, they didn't seem too hard to remove, but I'm concerned if it'll remain secure when I put the new ones in.

    Any inputs/tips appreciated! TIA!

You don't need to do anything with the door panel when you install them, they just mount to the door panels with screws, and the map pockets have a tab that fits into a slot in the door.

I assume when you got them out of the junkyard car, you didn't literally "rip" them out, did you?

You have to take the door panels off to mount the map pockets - they have tabs in the bottom (should have three - but they seem to break easily) and they mount up top to the door panels with large washers and screws that you can only get to on the back of the door panel. The armrest are easy and don't need the door panel taken off...moot point if you are doing both the map pockets and the armrests. I just did this swap two weeks ago.

Well, when I got them out of the junkyard car, the door panel was already removed, so that made the job easier.

I really didn't get to experience how to remove it with the panel on.

Easy to remove panel. Undo 3 screws holding armrest on. Slide it forward and out. Take off trim for door handle. Unscrew door lock button. Undo clips. Pull out at bottom and up. Door panel should be off.

Haha....I need to give that lip spoiler I picked up last week to ya & have that painted a flat black for me. I still haven't touched that center console and ellipsoid yet.

I think I'll chill in tonight & get some of that stuff done, as well as wash my e30. I start school on Monday & I'll have a jam packed schedule.

Are you sure you want flat black ? I would go with gloss .

Sorry to hear about your ear man.

Yeah dude, the junkyard gave me a horrible sunburn on my face, arms, & the back of my neck. I couldn't sleep on my back this entire week b/c I couldn't stretch my neck onto my pillow.
