I think the sr20 has been done but I havent seen a Supra motor.

I think it would be more baller to cram a 4-rotor in there.
    Im now E30less.

would you think it would be a
good swap just cuz my engine may not last
and plus it cheaper than what i can find around the area.

swapping a non-bmw engine seems to open all sorts of problems, such as driveshaft legnth, etc.

try bmwwholesale.net for used engines. they have some really good prices.

                  just my opinion though

You'll make more power out of a 1jz than you will an SR20.

See my sig for pics and details on E30-323ti's setup.

                        I have a 1JZ-GTE in my E30 and I've never looked back.

The toyota engine is the smoothest 6cyl I have ever driven, and it pulls like a MOFO.

                        When I find a LSD I'd expect a low 5s 0-60 and a 13s flat 1/4mile,
At the moment it does a 5.9s 0-60 and a 14s 1/4 @ 105mph, as you can see from that it has a bit of a traction problem.
I haven't built it to be a drag car, but it is a good basis for comparisons.

Here is a challenge for the BMW engine only people:
You obviously like HP to do a M50 swap so lets see if any one has done a M50 swap for under $4000 (what my 1JZ swap has cost) and has an unmodified/reliable 280hp??

Most people on these US based forums who do engine swaps seem to be scared of a bit of fabrication work, building a driveshaft is not a big deal, there are people the do it for a job!! Mine was $150!!
What I'm trying to say is "Don't be scared of doing something different", just because every other modifed E30 has a S/M50 in it doesn't mean it is the only option.

If I could post pics I would, but have a look around www.bimmersport.co.nz there are a few pics.

An LS1 in an e30 is my favorite combo.

300rwhp with a bone stock motor, and you can easily get 400rwhp and it will still drive like a baby and have more torque at every rpm than any BMW engine, and no turbo lag to worry about. 8)

LS1s also have one of the most intimidating exhaust notes.
