While it's not quite so extreme these days, we had a couple laughs about the potential of having an on-track incident between and McLaren and an MX-5. That said, the new GT4 regs in the Continental tire series has definitely brought some more entries into the GS class while somewhat controlling the cost of entry compared to years past... When I first started working the factory built Camaro and Mustang GS cars were $450k and 290k respectively. Now, I think the most expensive GT4 car is around $220k... Still a ton of money but at least the cars now are pretty close to turnkey and built to a formula. Our class (Continental tire ST) will be transitioning to some sort of standard formula in the next year or two hopefully. There has been talk of TCR, which would be fantastic, but I think some manufacturers are waiting to hear something definitive before developing a car, which makes for some uncertainty for some of us.- '88 m54 coupe

Looks fake, right? Look at the size of a Mustang compared to a 908!
