    It's ALIVE :twisted: :nice: :rofl: :pimp:

    Well this afternoon it finally took a deep breath, and roared to life. After all the rewiring and tweaking of the last 2 days I gave it a crank and just as I let off the key the engine made a pop. A popping sound of a explosion :!: I cranked it again and it roared to life.

    Right now its running OK at best, some tweaking must still be done. I know the AFM I'm running is garbage, it was fooled with before (not by me) then fooled with by someone else trying to fix it (my friend) and then he gave up because it never worked right. So I need to get a good AFM. Aside from that I would like to install all new injectors, that might help as well.. as my 6 are from misc different cars, not all from the same. One of my friends happens to have 6 m20 injectors that he had professionally cleaned, serviced, and flow matched. He said I could use those, so yeah... 8)

    Anyways I must give thanks where due, my car finally started today because of the troubleshooting Adam and Ely did with me, It really helped me to find the problems.

    Every last wire removed from the car, every last wire put back in several months later.. all by memory. 3 small electrical problems... not too shabby. I shall go over them here.

    The first problem noted was that fuse #10 blew as soon as the key was turned on. The cause of this happened to be 2 relays, the ABS surge relay and the Seatbelt timer relay. The connectors are different looking, but just happen to be interchangable. I swapped the connectors and no more fuses blowing.




    Next problem was the OBC Relay cutting power to DME pin 27, a jumper wire was placed on 2 wires on the connector, and that works properly now. (my OBC was removed, so it had to be jumped) Also part of this problem was the connector at the DME was not plugged in.




    Last but not least the Refference sensor and the RPM sensor connectors next to the diagnostic port were crossed. I switched them and then the engine started.

      Yeah, a whole afwul lot of stress that has built over the last couple days is now gone. I feel alot better.

            congrats man! what plans un the future for the engine? or will live it stock?

                Its far from stock right now, but it will be staying as is for awhile.

                    Sadly I wasn't able to drive it today as I had hoped. Once it started up oil started to leak pretty bad. It's either coming from the large o-ring betweent he oil filter housing and the block, or it is the o-ring inside the oil cooler thermostat housing. Either way its a steady drip at idle, and quite some bit faster as engine speed increases. I have to take the housing off and rebuild it.

                        Cool shit jordan, congrats!, I had a feeling that damn OBC Fuse box was one of the causes

                          Glad to hear I could help, Maybe I'll be as lucky as you and can get my E28 to start after a year of trouble shooting and replacing parts. Maybe tommorow I'llput the dash back in the E28 after I replace the power steering pump on the 88 325is, and see if I can trace my problem, as the ECU it self isn't kicking on as well as the fuel pumps.
