      Why modify what is essentially an already modified e30? Too bad they didn't use a regular e30.

        K. Going off the VIN tag - this was a C2 2.5 - NOT a C2 2.7. And it's hard to tell the exact one, but I assume not #36 (accounted for in the registry. Possibly 38 or 88?) Either way, the C2 2.5 was a Japan only version from Alpina and only 60 were made. They didn't sell very well since they were sold as an entry level Alpina.

        The 2.5 motor in the C2 version was not really anything more special then the stock M20B25 save for the Alpina cam and a little head porting to flow a bit more.

        Curious to see if the block is still stamped with the Alpina serial and such.

          We had the pleasure of working on two Japanese spec Alpina E30's :)
