Does that seem high for highway only, no a/c, doing 60-62mph? just wondering if my OBC is wack. i havent checked doing the pen/paper method.

certainly seems high for a 325is, but instant mpg on the highway could be that, overall throughout a tank? i'd be asking what kind of egg you have under your right foot :) best mpg ive gotten is like 24ish I think? ... and that was mostly all highway on a trip. -
i could see it if your a light foot at cruising RPM's. Ive gone 324 mi in the 318i on a tank (about 31mpg) driving prudent on a day trip.Comment

Do you flog it on onramps at all?
I'm so taking whatever I have from another E chassis I have. Might be a 2.79 even. What do you reach by the end of 1st, and 2nd?Comment

it really is interesting to read you guys that get low 20s and stuff around town and I get 26 no matter how I drive and then when I do highway I can get so much higher. It really doesnt lose but so much power, plus I dont have to shift every 3 seconds while I am cruising around townHDE30 <3Comment

My ix would get 28mpg cruising at 70 on the highway, so Id think 30 in a well tuned is is completely possible. I get close to 36-37 in my 318is just on the highway and average 33-35 mpg per tank.Back to my roots

When my car was running right when I first got it, I putted around town shifting at 2k and BARELY touching the gas and usually shifting from 3rd to 5th around 35mph and cruised at 40mph. I got 27mpg average on one tank.

Accelerate at around 35-40% throttle and shift at 3k and your mileage will improve.Comment

I regularly get 28 - 30 MPG on long highway trips doing 70-75 for distances greater than 100 miles. My record is 31 (and some decimal) when I used an entire tank of gas on the PA turnpike. It is accurate; I verified it several times.
Also, the PA turnpike sucks.Comment
