I'm interested in the wheels. Let me know if they go up for sale.

Can you confirm the offset again for me? THe Ronal USA web site states that they where made in ET 9 - ET25. Only came in 15x7.5 too.

Again, I do not know what the exact offset is. I know that it has the spacers, and they will are of course included. I think it is like ET28-29. These were made to fit VWs and BMWs. There are NO issues with the spacers to be concerned with as they are integrated into the wheel.

Yes, I definitely am going with the smoked tails. Not sure how to do it yet. I have looked at some threads on the subject but I haven't been satisfied with the information enough to attempt it on my own. The side markers I may do , not sure.
Ask my friend Jon (EtaSport), he made his own smoked taillights with some paint and such. He can tell you what he used. His came out great.

Just to clarify the information on the Ronal's a bit-these were the only ACT-LS wheels available from Ronal during the 2000-2001 time period. They were a VW/BMW E30 fitment. However, the offset was ET37 or ET38-I cannot remember exactly which. Ronal included spacers (already attached to the wheels-not sure how they are attached, but they haven't come off) that brought the offset to a more E30 friendly ET28-29.

That is why these don't have the deep lip that the current ET25 ACT-LS has. The ET25 version is Ronal's last (supposedly) production run of the ACT-LS. They are a direct E30 fit wheel with no spacers.

Just an FYI-the spacers cause no balance problems. They are of very high quality and are integrated into the wheel very well. Neither Bobby or I (when I owned the car) experienced any vibration issues with these wheels.

I really do like the Alpina/Kopi wheels-however, I am still partial to the ACT-LS look on the E30. Sorry Bob, had to say it! :D

Do you happen to know the weight of the Ronals then Mr. Giles. How about the width of them.
              Much obliged.

I don't know the exact weight of them, but I remember hearing they were around 17-18lbs. That sounds about right to me. The width is 7.5 in.

So the Ronals's ET28-29 offset is the proper offset for 7.5 wide rims? Just put M3 springs and Bilstein Sports on my car, lowered maybe an inch, the Ronals should cause no problems I assume. Would they be a problem is I drop the car another inch or so? A local seller has some Eibachs for sale...

no, 25 is the proper offset which will not require spacers. i just got mine about a month ago in et25 and those also have the deeper lip.

                        Hey All,

Just thought I should chime in here about the proper offset for the Ronal ACT-LS 15x7.5 rims. I bought a set in 2000 from Gary at Ronal, (who can be a pain to deal with) when they were offering a limited run of the wheels (apparently) for E30 use. I talked to Gary a couple of times about tire fitment issues, letting him know that I wanted to run 225/50s on my car, like many others had done. I was even ready to buy the tires from Gary, but he wouldn't sell me the 225's, but instead tried to steer me towards 205/50's (which are not a correct fitment for an E30, BTW). He was never completely honest about the actual offset of the wheels, but assured me that they would work on my '89 325is. I went ahead and ordered some 225/50 Yok AVS-I's from a different source, had them mounted on the wheels, and went to install them on the car.

The tires rubbed on the front struts. Turns out that the offset of the wheels was ET29. I was pissed, but to Gary's credit, he wouldn't sell me 225's, but just never said why. Fortunately, I was able to machine some new spacers at work (which, if I actually billed the job to a customer, would have cost a couple hundred bucks!), and the wheels work fine now. The final offset I ended up with was ET26. I've rolled the fenders in the rear and have had no significant rubbing issues, street or track.

Long story short, you need between a 24-26mm offset on a 7.5 inch rim with a 225/50/15 tire to work on a non flared E30.

                        -Jim
