BMW special @ Watkins Glen 2007!!

So every year 2nd weekend in September they have the Zippo Vintage Weekend. TON of vintage cars of ALL MAKES, some of the most rare shit you'll see in your life

every year they feature a different car. 2007 IS GOING TO BE BMW!

I put my touring in the show last year. damn thing got a TON of attention.

this year I just brought my coupe, but I'll bring the touring to the glen next year if they're doing a BMW weekend.

anyone else going? I hope it is a big event

Did you see the white 2002 racecar?? I hear it was the only 2002 actually racing this year, car belongs to a friend of mine who is a customer of the shop I've been helping out at various Vintage race events this year (I didn't make it to the Glen this year though....).

Definitely want to put it on the calendar for next year, I heard it has become the biggest vintage race weekend in the country......

well since everybody wants to go....I think its a great opportunity for a huge gtg. I'd be willing to drive to the glen from VA for this. I'd really be hot to trot for a meet 'n greet/cruise.

My home track, I'll try to get my dad to roll down with me. We were gonna go this year as we don't go to the 6 Hours anymore (Grand-am sucks), but decided to go to ALMS at Mosport instead. I'm sure I'll be there.

They also have camping on the infield all weekend, I forget how much a camping pass is, maybe $20-30. for years we've been getting away without one, since our cars are always in the show

any given year i'll be there, been going every year for the past 20 years (I'm only 21, lol). i'll have the wagon next year, but after that you might see me in my 240z. there are also a gunmetal 71 240z, and a red 73 w/flares and a g nose, my dad and my uncle.

it would be cool to meet some r3v guys there.

as for the camping; it's a blast. i've only gotten a hotel room there for the porsche events (my cousin races a 914) or to do trackdays. campins is fun, ton of people around partying. The washrooms all have running water now so its just like a normal bathroom (OG's will remember otherwise). They have showers there now, they cost $3 so whatever.

I always camp at the toe of the boot. Not too far from the show, vendors, or paddock, and its a great place to watch from. I'm on the upper outside of it, like between turns 10 and 11 if I remember correctly. It's nice cause you can take chairs and go under the tunnel to the inside of the boot and watch from there.

                              see you guys there!
