I've got a slow oil leak from the input shaft of my 4.10 LSD and am ready to replace the seal.
I've reviewed the Bentley manual and have a good idea on how to do the job, but a couple of questions remain.
I'm clear on how to remove the differential from the car and set it on a workbench for easy access, but I'm hoping someone here can give me a "play-by-play" for how to: (1) Remove the securing plate, drive flange nut, and drive flange, and (2) Remove and replace the seal.
Some specific questions I have are: (1) How the heck do you get the securing plate out? (2) What size is the flange nut and what tool do you use to remove it (box end wrench, socket wrench, etc)? (3) How do I hold the drive flange still while applying force to loosen the flange nut?
Thanks in advance!
Brian
