body kits, trim, and suspension changes. Very rare in this country but more common overseas.

          Different markets had different cars.

          Some did, some didn't.

I believe that U.S. cars never came with ///M badges.

The facelift models(m-techII) over here (Finland, Europe) didn't have ///M badges.

The earlier models had "///M-packet" which is much like is or sport over there. Those cars had plain M badges.

Any early body e30 could be ordered those ///M badges in Finland.

U.K. early bodies with M-techI had those badges.
          Current:

          BMW 320i 2d 2.0 m20 -88
          BMW 325i Cabriolet 2.5 m50 -88
          BMW 316i touring 1.6 m40 -90
          BMW 320i 4d 2,2 m54 -01

Genuine mtechnicII UK sports had an ///M on the boot as far as I know. Still took mine off when I got it to Ireland though!

@ Egk2- I know the M-tech1 usually just had an //M badge/emblem on the grill.

@ MikeE30325i Look at mine; from factory kit blah blah. It's what you call an M-tech 1

Here's a shot of Mtech badging

On back of my car. No front badge, but the rest is there, including on the front fenders, behind the wheels, and on all seat backs.
