There might be some decent weight savings there, and the G240 can handle the power.91' 318is 90' 325is

Agreed - that said, if you wanted to run a G240 it wouldn't be hard, it'd just be a bit of research to nut out which clutch / pressure plate and throw out bearing to use. BMWs are like lego with clutches, so you'd just need to look at different models to find the right combination of pressure plate and throwout bearing that gave you the stack height you needed.
Earlier in this thread it was mentioned that the adaptor for the BMW transmissions caused slave cylinder issues, but that would likely be easily sorted with an e21 throw out bearing (5mm deeper than most other BMWs, but same design) and if that weren't enough, a slight lengthening of the slave cylinder rod if the e21 bearing still didn't quite work.
Same as we've been doing for years adapting M20 flywheels to M42s, running M50s with e30 transmissions etc.

So you want to put an engine sideways in a e30 to ruin the weight balance.....
And make it understeer more?
The e30 is god’s chariot because it’s RWD.
Awd is understeer; an e30 325xi handles like shit compared to a rwd e30 325iLast edited by Wanganstyle; 04-02-2019, 04:48 AM.OBD1 M54/M52TU swap as a M50b25
