    93 E30

Bought an E30 today. It turned out to be a 93 E30 325iC. I thought somebody must be playing games with VIN tags, but everything looks real. Car Fax thinks it has a 24V DOHC engine, but it doesn't. I finally believed it was a 93 when I looked at the smog tag. It claims it conforms to 93 emission regulations, but the engine diagram on the tag is clearly an M20 and not an M50.

After I got home, I checked Ebay, and lo and behold, some guy is selling a car identical to mine (same ugly green) and claims it is a 93.

So, I guess BMW did make a few E30s in the 1993 model year. Does anyone know how many?

What value is there in having one of the last E30s made on the planet?

E30s aren't rare - probably worth no more than any other e30 of similar condition.

The only 93 model e30s were cabs. Not that big a deal really.

If you think the model year and smog tag are something ...just wait until you hit 88.8 MPH !

I hope you are kidding, but I suspect you're not. Does anyone make a chip that fixes that?

Do me a flavor, go rent the movie, Back to the Future, and you will understand. Man this whole generation gap thing is weird, and to think that it is NOW affecting me is even weirder!

Yeah Tourings were produced till 94. Cabs were produced later due to the E36 was not ready in droptrop variant so hence why it continued in production.
