Yep... that was my car. In fact, that photo I posted was from the same day: Best Motoring American Touge 2. The video company put it out on the Hot Version label.

Scary or not, we set the fastest lap time in our class... although I tend to agree that the car is in fact scary.

here’s my ‘other car’:
’88 Integra LS special






purchased in spring of ‘95 w/ 63K mi. It now has over 240K mi.
ST sways, short-shift lever, momo pedals, and exhaust tip
it is otherwise unmolested and has been incredibly reliable.
oil changes 3 times every year
have always done my best to stay on top of preventative maintenance
Original CV joints lasted until 230K mi.
it has struck/killed two deer.
recent hwy mileage reading: 32 mpg
guess you could call it my ‘college car’ (been with me for 4 different colleges and 3 different states of residency) I blame Iowa gravel roads and 18 winters for its awful corroded condition.

once inside it though, I’ve always been fond of it’s interior

when I first purchased it, I loved it for about 5-6 years – then was real disappointed to watch it deteriorate – then came around to enjoying it again. I mean.. fuck it. It doesn’t have any value, and not caring if it gets in an accident is a luxury in itself. It's weird how it's still fun to drive.

These pics were taken last week. Was planning on selling/salvaging it – but I’ve decided to ride it for one more winter – then I’ll get rid of it. (honest – the 18is should be done by spring anyway)

This is a ’72 Honda cb350 that I recently brought back to life. New tires, battery, plugs, points, filters, fluids, swing-arm bushings. Cleaned carbs. Was the first motor I set the timing and valves on. Good learning experience. Good times.

What is fuel economy? :grin: Everyone comments on that when I am driving that truck. I avg about 13MPG when I run it in town. Trust me I know, people give me shit all the time, they either love it, or hate it. I get about 50% waves 50% Middle fingers....

Believe it or not, it goes off road. I have had it totally covered with mud many times. I am not a pansy with it. There are little odds and ends I have done to it, and plan on bringing it to the moab next summer. :D

i dont think Im gonna be able to track it this year though. i have just enough money for rearsets, hotbodies, cluster, stay, and sliders, but cant afford a steering damper.

I would have had enough $, but all my buddies went to Mid Ohio today, but I had to work, so I have to drive alone tomorrow morning, and get my own hotel room sat and sun night (cant skip monday night, its always insane partying with the racers)

I'm buddies with a guy who could possibly get a championship in formula xtreme (its a 3 way run right now, and he just qualified for third. I think he can pull it!) so if he wins a championship everyone's gonna go fucking crazy!


if i can get either my 01 r6, or some of my spares for it sold (wheels, raintires, pipe, damper, rearsets) I'll have the money, but the guys I ride with are doing beaverun on the 8th and/or cayuga on the 9th, so I'm not sure I'll have my shit together in time

check out sharkskinz, too. i have a set on my bike and they fit really well. really high quality fiberglass.
i've got a 2 day trackday coming up on the 7th and 8th close to sacramento. my neighbor has a triumph 675, and our other buddy has a 636, too. it will probably be the last trackday for us this year, too.
if you can swing it, you should try to make the pilgrimage out here for moto gp at laguna. you've never seen or heard anything close to a moto gp bike until you've seen them live. utterly amazing.
