Finally had a chace to get my diff swapped out(thanks M3_Ryan!)

Once we pulled it out - the prolbem was apperent! Input shaft snapped in half like a twig...UNREAL!

I'd say my m30 motor had something to do with it - but turbo guys don't have this prolbem, so it mst have been a defect in the 1" thick harden steal.

Yea, I asked around - but no-one here has ever busted a diff. Go figure. Sorry for the bad pic - that's a camera phone...

It didn't quite capture the ruff edges on the DS break....

Funny anyways - It's a inch thick peice of steal...

It probably isn't 1". It is probably some metric number.

That is wierd i had my 335i for about a year and we never had any problems with the drive line at all. I beat the hell out of the car and nothing ever broke. I had the 89 735is motor 87 535is tranny and a 633 driveshaft and stock 4.10 rear end and stock axles.
