Forget Monroe or Gabriel. If you are looking for good and inexpensive shocks/struts for your BMW, try KYB.

Reason is that a company in my neighbohood is going out of business, I can get front and rear shocks, all 4 for $ 65. He is cleaning out his shop.

It is such a good deal, tempting. My car does not need shocks right now but I planned on getting them as a reserve.

they won' tbe worth the effort to install. At least not the front ones. And by the way, fronts are struts, rear are shocks.

Actually, I replaced my old worn-out struts on a (previous car) 325i daily driver with those and they were fine (only did fronts). Are they the hot-ticket for autocross or lowered suspensions? No. But do they dampen the spring action for a daily driver (what shocks and struts are supposed to to)? Yes, and just fine.

By the way, for non-enthusiast owned cars that you buy used, these are the shocks and struts you will find on most used E30s. They are the most popular replacements at parts stores and maintenance shops.

i had monroe shocks on my old Jimmy, they seemed to be okay for a truck or SUV, but i've never heard of them being good on cars.

A lot of driving schools with Mustangs use Monroe shocks, but thats about all I know of them.

That is what I meant, 2 front struts and 2 rear shocks. This is their site.

Creator of the first automotive shock absorber, Gabriel® is a leading aftermarket and original equipment manufacturer of shocks and struts for light- and heavy-duty vehicles.

This is for the 325e, not the e30M3.

I'd say any new shocks would be better than worn out stockers
