how to remove center bumper trim on old diving board

87 325is. I want to paint the bumper while it is on the car. I need to remove the center strip of trim. How does one do that? Thanks

It is impossible to remove the trim without first removing the bumper. If its the front bumper, look underneath and you'll see two bolt holes. Remove the bolts and I imagine you can figure out the rest. If its the rear bumper, get under the car nd try to remove the four nuts off of the bumper shocks where they mount to the aluminum DB.

    Good luck.

Or pull the 3 bolts out of each bumper shock and remove the bumper with shocks. Then you can get to the 4 nuts easier.

When I removed my front bumper there were only 2 nuts on each bumper shocks , so am I assuming you are talking about the rear bumper shocks ?
