Did Turner buy ECS Tuning?

Champcar hasn't changed a whole lot as a venue, but the drivers/teams have gotten a lot more serious in the last couple years. Local team TLM brought 4 or 5 e46's, couple of them m3's to the NEw Year Sebring event. We still run e30's, have 2 going next week to Road Atlanta. Think I started with them around '13.
EDIT: Just realized this is a thread about ECS, also had the nonsense open lol. Totally off topic.Leave a comment:

As far as I know that's not the case on the East coast, but then again my primary job on the team is "driver." The real whining seems to be predominantly on their forums. I started in '15 as well.Leave a comment:

west coast. the racing itself was ok, maybe a bit aggro, but all the event organization was run like a PTA meeting and extra-whiny as a result.Leave a comment:

Surprised no-one has mentioned that ECS is now charging full retail for OEM BMW parts. That was never the case before the acquisition. I used to get super fast shipping from them - often next day since they're close. 3-5 days now
I certainly don't buy OEM parts from them anymore.Leave a comment:

is chump still as anti-fun as it was in 2015? (my first and last chump race)Leave a comment:

OT sure... But we've all voiced our opinion on ECS at this point. LoL. Thanks for the response.it's a waste of money if you have a 3-stage manifold and an otherwise stock engine - because it won't make power above 7k anyway. BPC already proved the N52 can rev safely past 8k, but I'd like *some* safety margin.
and yeah, my E30 is a toy, so I'll probably bang the rev limiter every time I drive it. :)
(also this is waaaay OT).

When will the ATi be necessary though? Probably not till after 7k I feel. How often will you realistically be shifting at 8k? Not that I don't see it's potential benefit of your engine being sound with the ATi and maybe peace of mind, but I saw an older post where you said it was a waste of money. I'm just trying to understand.
I'm coming to you for my N52 tune after I upgrade my intake manifold and if you say this ATi is a good investment for the N52 I need to fully understand your wisdom. :)

because I'm building my N52 for the E30 to have an 8k redline ;)
I doubt they sell a lot of them. Fortunately it also fits the N54, so there's at least some demand.Leave a comment:

Do you suspect it will be NLA? Also can you explain why you'd shell out 800 for a harmonic balancer? I'm trying to understand the real world benefit of this part other than freeing up HP and helping in racecar status.
