    Just test drove some mustangs.....

So a friend and I went to some local dealers and test drove some mustangs, an 04 and an 05. The 05 mustang felt like shit. The power band was not all that great and the interior on it was so-so. The clutch took like 50 pounds of force to push down. It was incredably hard to push down. Tne 04 was much better and felt really nice. Both cars wandered on the road like it was driving on snow. I was afraid I was about to crash the damn thing My friends e36 325i felt more powerful than the mustangs. Both were 5-speed with 10K miles on them.

    Any thoughts?

i have never really liked fords at all, and the mustang is everywhere.

i believe it was aristosteles that said "mustangs are like tampons, every waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles has one" he followed that up with a great single-liner "real men drive e30's"

    aristosteles was the shit.

Mustangs are not nice cars, thats all there is to it. They can be built to do pretty much anything with enough money, they are cheap, and have a lot of potential for power.

I could never own one because every backwards hat wearing, rap listening, collar popping, diamond stud earing wearing kid in town has one with chrome cobra R's and two chamber flowmasters

EDIT: On topic I've found that the new body cars don't have as much "feel" (this is relative to other domestics) as the older. My friend as an '03 GT and it isn't bad to drive, definately a solid car, you definately feel more in control than in the new cars (I've only driven a new V6 though). The '05 almost felt like driving a truck to me.

you dont state what models. were these GT's or V6's??
i wouldnt own any of them but the GT's have got to be more likeable. the v6 cars are a joke
i did own a 90 5.0l back in 90. it was a fun car but i wasnt really aware of how well a car can be made to handle. i thought straight axles were normal

i worked at a ford dealership this past summer, the new mustangs are not horrible as far as american cars go. well just say theyre no bmws.
my record for # of cars driven in one day is something like 25, just a random fact

15 mustang GTs in one day, good times

i can't say much for mustangs but a buddy of mine has a 2000 cobra and it pulled away from my 96 Firebird Formula pretty good out on the highway from a 65 mph roll he stayed 2 cars ahead of me. he said he was in 5th at 135mph and mine was in 5th at 130mph and i still had a gear to go, altho i seen i was not going to catch him so i let off the gas before one of my carpool buddys shit their pants.

They were both GT mustangs. The 05 def. felt like a truck. I thought the 02 GMC sierra I was driving to and from the dealerships felt better.

they're definately not bmw's. i used to work at a bmw dealership and i would deliver cars (new and used). I now work at saleen and have driven a few stock 4.6 06's and a 5.0 06.

for the handling aspect all i can say that with suspension they handle decent. much better than stock. i cant push them too much because were on public roads and there is always traffic.

This brings up one question. Why waste your time when you could test drive so many other cars?

We were trying to test drive a srt-4 but no dealer has one. There were some Ford dealers near by so we said why not. I drive BMW all the time so I wanted to try some American muscle.
