Anything is possible. It just depends on how much you are willing to spend.

    Vlad has a 6-speed in his e30. I've seen a couple other e30s on the web with a 6-speed.

        Aftermarket Tranny??... umm no...

If you can put a 6 speed in an E36 I'm sure you can retrofit one to a E30 especially if it already has a M50 dropped in it.

          Yes a 6-spd from a 330 or from a Z4 will work fine in a E30 with a M50 variant swap .

Of course the Euro 6-spd will also work .

With that said , you can also use any of those on a M20 and just compensate for the 10deg offset of the trans with a custom linkage and or bend the shift lever accordingly .

Vlad's car is a bit of an extreme example:).

I don't really see the need of the 6 speed unless you're running a 4:11

Yeah, I was about to ask. What's your reasoning behind using a 6 slot?

                Mod list mod . :D

Really , there would be no reason to have one with a M20 .
                I've got one on my list , but hey I'm running a built S52 . ;)

i'm sure i'll get flamed for compairing bmw to gm but if bmw's 6 speeds are anything like gm's then i'd be all for it. i don't care what motor is in front of it. going 80 mph at 1800-2000rpm is quite nice.

Words to live by. I didnt think an S54 would ever be installed into an E30 but now there are 2. But that guy was insanely smartas well and did tons of the work (if not all) himself.

You are correct. I wasn't saying that it easy, just possible.;)
The only other 6-speed e30 I saw on the web was a schwarz e30 with the v12 motor in it. I forgot what country it was in though.

I accually almost bought a 6-speed a while ago for my motor swap, but I decided that i should not be running a transmission that costs more than the motor...

Uhh... 4.11 diff and a 6 speed. That would be the best of both worlds.

Awesome acceleration and awesome mpg on the highway. I would love one.
