for all of you who have no clue who he is, he's the Idahoan on the NBC show, The Apprentice.
So.........I am totally a new person now. He gave a very inspirational speech that just motivated and moved me in a huge way! Thought I would share some of the night with you guys!
Troy lived in poverty nearly all his life while growing up. He started the speech with telling the audience how inspiring his mother is. Since age 8, she has been telling Troy that as long as he works hard, believes in himself, and takes action, he can do whatever he sets his mind too. He told us that he first became familiar with Donald Trump at age 8 when he walked past a window of a local store and saw a poster of Donald Trump surrounded by money reading...."More is never enough!" He told us that it was $1.50 and it took him three whole months to go and buy that poster.
His senior year he recieved Trump's book, "The Heart of The Deal" which is all about the work in real estate (Trump is worth 10 million in real estate assets). That same year he was so determined to begin making money that his senior quote was, "Trump, I'm coming." Apparently he copied that quote page from his yearbook, circled it, and mailed it to Trump. Troy said Trump has kept that paper since the day it was mailed to him waiting for Troy to come after him. :D
He was telling us about a series of ideas that he had since age 8 about making money. He tried fixing up lawn mowers, tried making money from underground parties that was shut down because underage drinkers were getting MIPs, he created an athletes arena where a guy he had just met gave him 250,000 dollars to do......just by a fuckin handshake deal! He went around to school districts teaching young kids self defense in order to help safe themselves from abductions from strangers.......this campaign later on saved a kid's life. Troy learned this from Trump because of all the background checks they did on each of the candidates before the show. Anyway, the point about all of these ideas is he failed in each one, but something good came out of them, such as saving a boys life, the guy who helped Troy repair lawn mowers is the largest distributer of lawn mowers in America.
Apparently when he applied for the job there were 215,000 applicants...he made it down to the 16 that started.
What he learned and talked about with Trump was that you have to make the uncomfortable, comfortable in life and when you stop growing is when you get comfortable. Trump told him to always look out for things that make you uncomfortable and work to make them the opposite. Also, you can never be one hundred percent right about everything.
Some insights about the show:
He also shared with us that when people go to the board room, you pack for 2 nights and stay in another hotel until you can go back and get the rest of your belongings. That's why everyone packs only one bag :D it was interesting to me.
Also.....nothing's scripted....in real life.....Troy does have an accent, he does where his hat and is a huge fisherman! He also totally dissed on Omarosa through the whole show! :D It was hilarious. Sorry this is so long you guys........it really interested me and I know for some of you, you'll feel the same way. I was jsut so excited to be there and hear what he had to say :D
those of you who want to.............
