You're missing the point. In the end, his damage cost is the 75 cents he paid at the gas station to fill up the tire again and have the car checked out.
If the damage was a $75 tire... that'd be a different story. For what they did, he got the best scenario out of the whole deal.

I know, I know, I just thought it was wierd that they just let the air out.I've had my tires slashed a few times, and if the air was just let out, i would have been like WTF??
