I hate stupid teenages that just got their license... (pics!)

So i was just driving home from work, coming down a looong ass hill.. In the middle of the hill is the parking lot for a high school swimming pool.

The speed limit is 35 mph, i was probably going about 40 - 45, so yes I was speeding.

I'm the blue car, dark orange is the car in front of me, red is the car I almost hit.

As you can see in the picture below, the red car is pulling out while parked in the middle of the entrance, the person in the car in front of me, being stupid, decides to pull in to the left of the car, rather then the right. (WE ARENT IN GERMANY DUMBFUCKS).

The red car sees this as an opportunity to flow in to traffic, not realizing there is a car coming at them from less than 30 yards away or so by now.

The Result?: The dark brown car was well on his way out of the lane by the time I was about 100 yards away, plenty of time to maintain my speed, however the red car emerged into my lane as the other car escaped from the lane. Forcing me to slam on my brakes (god bless ABS). Once I realized there was no way I was going to slow down with all my forward/downward momentum (because of the hill), I analyzed my escape points and narrowly missed the car by swirving around them on the right (god bless suspension for having little to no body roll, and not sending me out of control trying to recover from the swirve).

I wish it was harder for people to get liscenses like in germany, and other countries... it would make life so much less hectic, and would actually inform people to drive and not parallel park.

remind me how me fucking up = someone pulling right in front of me when they should have been yielding to my right of way

If the other car had enough time to pull out all the way and get straitened out, and then you in turn REAR END them, it is at least partially (if not fully) your fault. You should have been going slow enough to avoid it.

The speed limit is just that: The maximum allowed under any condition. If conditions are bad (weather, sight distance, etc..) then you are responsible for slowing down to an appropriate safe speed, regardless of what the speed limit is.

If I hadn't of slammed on the breaks I would have slammed into the car while it was still pulling into my lane, I swirved around it while it was still entering the lane, angled like this /

Additionally, both of them broke the law by driving on essentially the wrong side of the road, and the "red" car did not yield to oncoming traffic.

I should be faultless in my mind. If he was already travelling in my lane and I ran into him from lack of attention thats one thing, if he pulls in front of me and cuts me off thats another.

Actually, when I had my e36I was driving on a road with a 50mph limit. I was doing around 55mph, and there was a road to the left. A 17 yr old chick that got her new Focus that day (yes, brand new) decided to ignore the 3 signs that either said RIGHT TURN ONLY, NO LEFT TURN, and the picture saying this. She "thought" she had enough time, pulled out in front of me, and than said she saw a squirell run out in the road.

She slammed on her brakes, and meanwhile I just noticed this, and proceded to put the my 323ic into the ass end of the Focus at around 40mph. I didn't think cars moved that much when you hit them! LOL, pushed my hood up to roof height, headlights went south, radiator spewing, etc.

Cop came out and told me to pay more attention, than gave her several citations, and let her know that her car was probably totalled! So, yes, you can slam someone and it not be your fault, but only in select cases.

If he was *partially* into the intersection at an angle it would probably have been his fault, assuming you didn't get caught speeding (that changes everything in this country). The reason is that you presumably wouldn't have had enough time to see him and react.

This could be argued a few different ways, but I think I agree with you.

Unfortunately I've had firsthand experience with this a few times.
