I dont think its genuine, though i'm not the 'authority' on this. I think it best the Alpina slut look at this one.

It probably has a 2.7l engine there. Anyone care to prove me wrong?

Ask Shakey Jake to take a look at it.

Not enough info from seller. Pic looks suspect. No striping. No one debadges an Alpina :?

Also ask him what number the car is. There is a placard I believe right in the cigarette lighter tray that will confirm this. Is it a B6 2.8? Or B3 2.7? Lots of unanswered questions IMO

                Guys come on!

Tonnes of Alpina's in the UK were debadged to stop little scumbags from keying them just beaucse they were exclusive!

There were 4dr Alpina's, just rarer. The B6 2.8 got a long range fuel tank, so ask the seller how much petrol he fill it with!

beware, there is a company in Sydney called Alpina Australia that performs "Alpina" conversions ... they are really just 2.7l conversions with or without appearance enhancements ... they are not real alpinas .... they do sell some genuine Alpina stuff, but the prices are hiddy dear .... it could be real, but there arent that many Alp's in Aus, and most of the ones i have seen have spoilers, badges and decals. for 15,000, id say, NO , its not legitski.

                  hth, jake

EDIT: 10,000kms??? id say 10000kms on the 2.7l rebuild that Alpina Australia performed.

It is possible that it is a real Alpina. However it is definately not a B6 2.8 as they never came in 4 door models, and I doubt it is a B6 3.5 4door as they are exceedingly uncommon (and it would have wider wheels than pictured). If it is a real Alpina it is most likely a C2 2.7 which were built by Alpina's authorized builder in England Sytner although only 160 were reported built. It could also be a B3 2.7. However if it is a real Alpina it will have an Alpina dash plaque with a production number which it probably doesnt because if it did the seller would mention it.Hope this helps.

The B6 2.8 was only availible from 83 to 86, when it was replaced by the C2 2.7, which made the same horsepower from a smaller motor.

In 86 the first B6 3.5 was announced. Production finished in 90, after a mere 219 cars had been produced, which includes 87 facelift cars.

They also came with 7" on the front, and 8" out back.

So this ain't a genuine Alpina. Sorry.
