quick stupid question (maybe i'm just autistic)

So I just bought an 89 325i and went to fill it up with gas, and couldn't figure out how to open the darned gas latch. Can anybody please tell me what button i need to press or lever to pull or w/e? I searched the inside of the car and couldn't find anything, so needless to say i feel like an idiot :loco: .
    Thanks!

    unlock your doors!

Thanks for the quick reply. I tried with both the passenger and driver doors unlocked, along with the trunk open, and the gas filler still didn't open. (Is it supposed to be automatically unlocked if the doors are unlocked?)

your lock might be broked, theres a way to open it manually, it involves going through a hole in your trunk liner and lift the latch or somethin like that, i think its in the manual

Yeah, it should unlock with your doors. Yours must be broken in the locked position.

NC325iC is right you can open it from the trunk. I think there is a little flap in the carpet and a wire to tug. Check the manual .

          Good luck,

Thanks guys, I figured it out. The car had had a dead battery and I unlocked it before putting the new battery in. I guess the computer thought the car was locked when it really wasn't or something. But double-locking and then unlocking the car did the trick.
