Found an interesting pic from 2 summers ago

so, what do you all think. It is a tuned former east german Trabant. It ran a 29 second 1/4 mile if I remember right. He wanted to run my buddies mini that I had just finished the motor on. was a CLOSE race. Mini ran a low 15 untuned/ and unbroken in motor- about 5 miles on it, and straight to the track!
just for some info to those that dont know, it was one of the few cars that "east" Germans were allowed to buy. The body didnt rust, cause it was made out of glue, and cardboard and some other crap. The motor was a 2 stroke smokin machine! the front suspension was a leafspring type of setup.

Hello, couldn't find the welcome thread so I just say Hi from Europe .

Back on topic.

The german sentence on the car says : "Shit comes from west(germany) ,driving Trabi is fun (altought Im not sure about fun word)

In my hometown there is one TRABI with swapped 2l 16v from Vw , and it runs 14.5 so it's not that bad. BTW , the car body can be fixed with a glue.

My dad always wanted to buy one of those. He thought that it would be kind of practical to have, when we are visiting our family house in Hungary in the summers.

That was until he drove my uncles trabant. He said that it was the crappiest piece of crap , he ever had the unfortune of climbing into. Even though it had the newer vw-engine, it was the slowest vehicle he had driven since testdriving my brothers moped...:)
