    open glovebox
    remove clips/straps/screws
remove 4 10mm bolts, unplug computer and remove
open tabs on backside, seperate case
pull boards apart with thumb and forefinger on both hands, be gentle.
pry up chip slowly from each side with small screwdriver, insert new chip in same direction (notch on end)
install recerse of removal, takes all of 10min!

    good luck.

Note: If there is a little plastic box over your chip.....you need to "see-saw" it off kinda.

There are two horizontal slits near the top and bottom of the face of the black cover. Stick in a mini flathead and tilt it away from the center of the chip. It should be half off. Hold the side that came up, and do the same for the other end. Then afterwards it just pops back into place.

Motronic 1.0 doesn't have the tabs on the back nor the plastic cover on top of the chip. There should be 4 Phillips screws to open the cover, then two flathead and two Phillips screws that hold the boards together.
