Off topic but can anyone help im my search for 4 runner

which model/years?

84-89
90-95
96-2003
2004+

84 and 85 had a solid front axle. much better for hard core offroad use. also the tops came off until 89

the SOHC V6 from 89-95 is lacking balls. also the earlier years had a headgasket recall. you can tell if it's been done by checking the VIN

DOHC V6 after 96 is a nice engine. there is a supercharger for it. rides more like a car

the 4cyl engine was pretty much unchanged when it was offered
