    REPORT: EBC Green Stuff!

I'm runing new ATE SLotted Rotors in the front as the EBC green stuuf pads as well.

I changed bot at the same time. I did the break in and noticed that this pad doesn't really stop the car as my old cheap ATE pads.

The pedal feels like "SPonge" or " spongy" and needs harder press to break the car. even with that issue, the pads are doing some noise, I took it down two times , shaved or polished the pad a bit to clean out of dust and still is making the noise.

From my experience until today I?m not happy with these pads, most probably I won't buy them anymore. Perhaps the Red STuff can do the Job, but I?m afraid to use them agian and spens almost 70-80 bucks for some pads that doesn't feed my needs.

    Any comments? Opinions?

BTW: those pads make dust like the cheap ones too! :x

there is a brake in period on the pads, i also notice a bit of a sponge feel to it, only when they are COLD though, they really like to be warm for best performance. ive have mine for 2 years know and im still waiting for them to wear out!!!

I had the EBC green stuff pads and the ATE power Discs, I noticed the same effect, after a while they seem to work better afte they were broke in. the warm the better.

I was very happy with them, I would do it again.

Have you actually gone through a proper bedding yet? Maybe the spongy feel is your brake lines... do you have regular or SS brake lines?

Mine feel moderate when they are cold but as they heat they improve exponentially.

The noise is there, it always will be.

I had EBC Green stuff pads in my EVO.
When they are cold (first stop of the day at the end of the street) they always felt like wooden blocks and didn't stop well, as soon as there was some heat in them they worked sweet as, no complaints at all.

the werd thing is, you guys are saying when the pads start to get warm stops better, when I'm in the highway and need at least two hard breakes or hard stops I start to smell burned pads, while the ATE cheap pads didn't do that never, just when I was racing hard or runing har the car and got hot hot temp well, the pads started to fail and the brakes went to hell.

I scare happen the same thing for the EBC pads in the highway...the noise is the worst part of this, even when EBC says that their pads doesn't make any noise like the "cheap Pads" so, that's the point, theycsay cheap pads, so my ATE "chepa Pads" should make this noise and they never did it in my case....that's

Duno guys, right now If I had to chose again to keep some pads I will take the ATE "Cheap Pads" again....I will wait a bit more to see if the pads finish the break in.

i just put on ATE powerdiscs and EBC green stuff's aswell, and like others have said, the cold feel is moderate but once they warm up they have excellent bite. there's absolutely no noises or squeaks from them, and so far (1 week) have not caused any brake dust.

That was always my main complaint with the EBC Green; the piss-poor initial bite. Being a high-performance pad, they need several stops before they really 'grab,' but when up to temperature, they are fantastic. I rarely had fade issues with these pads, unless the driving situation was flat out extreme.

They are a typical high-performance street pad--lousy when cold, "hang you in the seatbelt" when hot, plenty of dust, plenty of noise, etc.

                    EBC

I personally have not used them, but a friend tried them once on his e34 m5. Burned through the fronts (EBC Red) in 2 30 minute track sessions at Putnam Park. Needless to say, he was pissed. I have not heard too many people praise them, but some do. Just remember. The brakes (pads or rotors or calipers or brake lines) do NOT stop the car.
