    Help my car lose weight.

hey guys, over this winter i wanna drop about 100-150 pounds from my 88 325is. how would you go about doing this on alimited budget? my plan was to remove the rear seats and buy some used sport seats to replace my fronts. beyond that i'm not sure where to go.... im a total noob at mechanics, so dropping the A/C unit wouldnt be feasable, are there any other places i could lose weight fairly simply? (i do have a bently manual, so i am not tottaly in the dark.)

take out all the tar in the trunk, back seats out, take out the rear tar under the back seat, take out your windsheild wiper fluid resv, lexan the rear windows...
keep in mind though that removing the tar will increase noise ;)

thanks m3fan i guess i know where to start then!!!
how hard is it to remove the A/C system?

I'm guessing you had this info stored someplace?

you both mentioned the tar as sound deadening, sounds messy, is it?

Yeah, I did not make this up. I received it from another thread, so FTR, it's not my material. The AC is not difficult to remove, Try to remove it with re-installation in mind, in case you want to sell an in-tact A/C system!

A/C isn't that hard to remove, provided you can get the fittings loose for the hoses and lines. I only had to cut one on the condenser on mine. Radiator has to come out to remove the condenser, IIRC, which isn't hard except for the fan being in the way. I no longer have that problem. :D
You can remove all the lines up to and through the firewall pretty easily but you'll have to plug the holes where the lines enter the car or you'll have a serious water leak. I duct taped the grommet and reinstalled it; no problems.
The OEM seats weight a TON. Replace those with something lighter.

                        Nice list.
My car with the M50 is totally just a shell. I'll weigh it when I'm done for weight intrest.

plastics require more money than i would like to spend.. i have about $500 i set aside to work on my car this winter. so some nice used sport seats basically, then removing shit is my plan.
