    We did our garage in 1/2" copper and it is really out of the way and quite nice. Make sure you have drains as wel as a dryer/regulator.

                      I think the reason to avoid PVC is that when it is under pressure, if something hits it, it will fracture and send shrapnel flying. I used PVC for a long stretch from one shop to another underground. It has held up fine.

                                True story. I had a bunch of books I had to study out of when I got my present job. In one of them it had a topic on this. Oils from compressors migrate and with the moisture it makes an acidic compound.
