    A few questions

today i was cruising along the SR 51 going down to my best friends dads house. he was following along with me in his 95 s-10 (so it sucks balls) and all of a sudden i see the "check" llight flashing i psush the button and see that "engine oil" is now lighted, when it was just washer fluid before. i start to freak out thinking i might have broke something because i was going the fastest i have ever went in that e30 before. i dont have a speedo but my e30 is a super eta and my friends eta 85 325e hits 110 at the top of 4th gear. i was at about 3500 in fifth and the hood was way up it doesnt latch, yeash i know) so i remember that i saw tons of oil residue on the bottom of the engine. so i get it to his house, not being gentle to it at all, and the level is at halfway. no burning smell or anything. i filled it up with two quarts and the light went off, so no worries. i just want to know if anyone has had oil leaks on there e30 and if the "oil service inspection" lihgt is on the red, here is the best pic of the leak i could get. thaanks for the help.

i don't think that the manifold bolts go into a oil passage. mine leaked like that but i put a new gasket on it when i did the head gasket. And i replaced the rubber things that go into the head where the rocker arm shafts go, they did not leak before but they do now with the new ones.

alright, i dont think that a new gasket is too expensive so i will just get a new one and replace it. it slowly leaked over 4 months, so it isnt a major problem, just something i want to fix sometime.

yeah i actually got two cans of that shit and i used some and now there is the most horrendous of noises coming from the engine. i think it is either the fan is coming loose, cause i had to modify it to work properly. or the belts, which i bought new ones. the noise has gotten more severe as time goes on, and i have to keep turning the radio up higher and higher. so i am kinda pissed. i am going to put the belts on tomorrow. so hopefully the sound will go away. if not i will have to tinker with the fan for a while...oh well. just a day on the lifeof owning an e30. lol

You know you've got an e30 when you turn your radio up to mask new noises.

oh hell yes! i love it dude. we just gotta fix the other, lets see, four hundred thousand problems...lol

and yes, def put the schwartz wing on the hennarot. please. do it.

and i know why. lets see, starting out in fifth gear, starting the car in second with no clutch, going from first to fifth at 300 rpms and downshifting into the red......i think that about sums it up.
