    a few days o' fun

mr. deagle and i spent a good 7 hours on a tranny swap on his 325e. thankfully he has a lift and a shitload of tools, so we were never in short supply of ratchets, sockets, etc. removing the tranny was easier than the reinstall on a few aspects of the job. we removed the entire exhaust to the headers, and disconnected the positioning sensors and the reverse light and all those other goodies. we picked a nice tranny out of a junkyard and took it back to the shop. the linkage was loose, so we removed the rubber piece inside of it and replaced it with a freshly machined and lathed piece of aluminum and tightened up the hold so it shifts much better. putting the tranny back in was fun, and we couldnt wait to start it up with no exhaust.

holy hell that shit was loud. like really loud. we then proceeded to drive around the shop, making ourselves deaf. then we had the bright idea to go to in-and-out burger. we took the drive thru of course. and we had to continually shut off the car and sit there becuase the roar of open headers was just too much. but boy it was fun, and a lot of knowledge was gained from this experience.

p.s. no pics or vids because i lost my camera. should have it back or a new one soon.

p.s. oh we are also buying an 88 325is to part out. only non usable pieces on the car are the drivers rear fender and the trunk lid. and a few parts we are keeping for ourselves. it has the black interior, so if you want anything at all on the car, drop me or "mr. deagle" a message and we will work something out.

we paid 375 bucks for a 100,000 mile 85 325e stock engine/tranny that runs good. it had the reverse light and the two positioning sensors. and the linkage. it was clean and shifts tight and easier than his old tranny. we will probably be ripping apart the old tranny. and all that stuff.

nope, its not fun. but defanetly worth every second and dollar!!!!

i love driving around with open headers, makes you feel like a race car driver (especially when you also have no carpet, no passager or rear seats)

i did that when i got my car running for the first time, damn it was a pos back then. ghetto30 fuh raze

i thought the guy said the car had about 100,000 miles on it? which would just make sense that the tranny would have the same amount.

and it was hella fun! you and i both learned a ton of stuff about tranny removage and swappage. jus timagined if we had to lay on our backs.......it was fun.
