I haven't used mine yet since I'm still doing the motor, but I can't wait!
Seems dumb, they are a killer tire, and the replacement "pole position" isn't nearly the same performer as these. Really not even intended to be. Dumb move Bridgestone.
I had these on a VR6 Corrado - they were 225/50-15 's and they totally transformed that car. It was glued to the road where my previous tires were BFG's that were great dry, crappy wet. I live in WA. Bad match.
SO-3's were waaaaay better than the BFG's dry, and incredible in the wet. I highly recommend these for a PNW tire.
As a side note, I posted it over in the tire & wheel forum, but Goodyear has a rebate going until the end of the month. Look here:
for details.
I understand GS-D3's are without equal as a wet tire, But they are known to chunk for track use. Also, not nearly as cheap as what the SO-3's are blowing out for.
It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.

I ended up with a set of S0-3's in the above sizes for $450 mounted and balanced, after taking into account shipping the tires from TireRack and $10/ea to mount them at my tire guy, then subtract the $100 I sold my front 75% tread Toyo T1-S for.

I wouldn't worry too much - I bet anything after the start of 'o4 will be great, especially if you DD them. SO-3's only last ~30k. If you rack up the miles you could easily scrub off a set in less than 18 months.
I remember a guy who asked before giving his CC info, and it took a few days to get a reply, but TireRack was able to locate a fresh set, and told him what location warehouse they would be coming from, and I think something about extra time in transit, and maybe a few extra $$ for added shipping. May even have been Lance R., I forget - but if you search the old stuff on BMWCCA Puget Sound I'm sure you could find it. It seems like it was a pretty active member at least if it wasn't Lance. Sorry I can't remember the details.
