1991 mtechnic vert - VIN option check

    Hey guys,

First post here, but long time lurker. I've got an interesting lead on what very much appears to be a genuine 1991 mtechnic convertible in salmon silver. Can somone run this VIN with through the ETK and verify that the mtech option was included? I don't know what the option code is, but it should stand out.

Also, a carfax would be much appreciated (email).

    Thanks a ton.

I was pretty much able to verify with some info I found on the net. The production date and the VIN is within the range listed below. I may be picking this car up tonight. I was wrong about the color. Instead of salmon silver, its probably sterlingsilber.

      From www.e30ic.com:

Automatics. In the VIN ranges for the automatics, I found 56 VINs that listed the "M Technic Luxusausstattung" option (M Technic Luxury Equipment):

10 MacaoBlau. 5 had heated seats.
15 BrillantRot. None had heated seats.
31 SterlingSilber. 6 had heated seats.

The automatic VIN range from the ETK for 04/91, was EC26385-EC26761.
      The automatic VIN ranges from the TIS for 04/91, were: EC26274, EC26276, EC26304-EC26305, EC26317, EC26313-EC26314, EC26329, EC26331-EC26335, EC26338-EC26339, EC26341-EC26343, EC26346, EC26349-EC26350, EC26354, EC26359-EC26362, EC26364-EC26365, EC26367-EC26373, EC26375, EC26378-EC26379, EC26382-EC26383, EC26385-EC26671, EC26674-EC26720, EC26724-EC26735, EC26738-EC26739, EC26744-EC26750, EC26752-EC26754, EC26761.
I checked these VIN ranges: EC26385-EC26762 and about 75 other VINs.

In the automatic VIN ranges that I checked, I also found 49 ALPINWEISS2 M-technic appearance and 56 DIAMANTSCHWARZ METALLIC M-Technic appearance. This seems to conflict with the "Appearance package cars were all 1992" that is heard on the Net.

I still don't have the carfax, but will probably pick one up before I go check it out tonight. If anyone has access, a copy would be appreciated.

      Thanks,
      1989 e30 M3

Thats an awesome find if you can get it. The only bad thing is that its an auto but who cares, its still an mtech
