You don't want to import one to canada...you wouldn't really know the history of the thing or be able to contact the person who use to work on the car. lots of other stuff to. your from vancouver right :).

hey well actually i was thinking of importing one from Japan more. Importing straight from Germany seem like it would make more sense.... but like you said i wouldnt know anything about the car.
My dad, uncle and some friends are in car business in Japan, so it would be really easy for me to find a good car.
I just love E30s, and I wanna get one as a weekender. But then I realized the Euros just look better, and seem like the thing to go after 8)
Im thinking M3 too, but I like how the 325is drives, and call me crazy but I like the body lines of the regular boxy E30s better than the M . . .
Either way, I'm not in need to buy a car right now, so I just wanted to see how much more beneficial it would be to pick up a Euro besides the nicer bumpers... just take my time and pick up somethin that makes me really happy :D
Have you looked at a 318is? If you ever want a ride in one just holler :) haha. Not the M though, lol. The 325is has a lot more torque in the low end for city. Like i told you before, the m3 is a bitch to drive around town and the gas consumption is a lot more also. When I first took it for a spin, taking a right out of my neighbourhood, the first thing i said to myself was, holy shit this thing is worse than the 318is (torque wise). Once you get it over 3500 it pulls though.
there really isnt much of a difference, other than the bumpers on the older ones. the motors are the same, and they had the same options available. I think if you got one from germany, the car was serviced with genuine german parts, and there is a lot less chance of little things being broken.
All the lights are different. The late model cars you are looking at have different trim peices on the bumpers that have sidemarker lights in them. Greg has been bringing over the trim without the sidemarker for a while, easy to do. Engine wise its just a matter of the catalyst. Some grille differences and a few other details that are hardly noticeable too.
It would be infinitely cheaper to just but the euro stuff and build it over. That is what I did.
