    dilemma

I cant decide which route i want to go.
    here's my story:
I have a m30 with a 5 speed bolted to it, all of the wiring harness and ecu
total amount spent on this option: approx $750 (it came with a e28 and i put 200 into motor parts)
    - i will still need the late style oilpan/oil pump, motor mounts and fabricate an exhaust downpipe.

    OR

I also have a super eta block w/ an i head, low compression pistons, turbo manifold, turbocharger, wastegate, 19lb injectors, and all brand new parts to rebuild the engine ($400 worth)
total amount spent on this option: approx $650
I still need intercooler, plumping, fabricate an exhaust downpipe

what is your opinion to what i should do?

    p.s. the e28 is stilldriveable.

M30 + low to mid boost turbo. Tuhhhh daaaaa best of both worlds.

Seriously though the M30 would be the cheaper of the 2 route to go at your current juncture.

the turbo i have is pretty small, it came off of a 3000gt. so it doesnt make much sense to put on the m30. im not necissarily looking for the cheaper route, im looking for the route that i will have more gain from in the end

Keep the E28 running and turbo it in the future. Do the turbo M20 in your E30.

If your turbo came from a 6g72 its a 12b and WAY TO SMALL for even a stock m20 with verry low boost. The 6g72 is only a 3.0L any way and it has twin's and only pushes 14 psi turned all the way up, 8 or 10psi stock depending on the year.

Low boost on a normal compression (9:1?) stroker would be sweet, probably be very driveable.

M30. Gobs of torque anyways and will still be reliable all stock,

                    Do something fun!

Really the turbo is my choice. Sure the m30 is easy to do, but the turbo 2.7 would be a great learning experience and option.
