    New e30 owner

Just bought an 87 325is for $1175. It has 186000 miles on it and runs extremely well. It has a lil bit of rust, but nothing that i hope cannot be fixed. I am absolutely in love with the car, it handles like a dream. well just introducing my self to the community. I'll prolly have lots of questions. My first thing to do is change the pads and rotors as they are pretty worn. Any recommendations on what to use. I have a budget of $300 for the brakes.

Well w/o further delay, here are some pics. more to come once.

    Here she is:

    White 1987 BMW 325is -
    186k miles -
    5 speed -
    Black Leather interior -

Plus it has a couple of rust spots. Anyone recommend the best way to fix them. Also whats a good place to buy parts? How well do these fare on the track?

      Cool! Nice score!

Rust is pretty much only fixed by killing it and painting over the area, luckly, white is pretty easy to get a "close enough" match. E30s can handle incredibly well, if you are thinking about taking it to the track, you will find tons of info here about suspension, brakes, tires, and engine performance. Welcome!

Mike, those are the standard 14x6.5 basketweaves (BBS).

Do the standard ones say "BMW" under the centercap?

Im pretty sure my 16x8 BBSs don't, they just say "BBS RZ4XX" or something to that effect...

Were there two versions of the 14x6.5 basketweave? Perhaps a BBS and a non-BBS version? Hmmmmm...

what do the euro bumpers look like? also i noticed in the owners manual there was a heated seat option. how common was that option and is it possible to retrofit?

Look at MR 325's car. He has a black eta with the euro bumpers.

The euro bumpers are metal, but MUCH smaller. They look very nice but are har to come by, at least around here.
