Getting a second car, what to do with BMW?

I've come to the conclusion that my BMW gets me too many tickets, especially with me driving it. Its just too much fun to have to drive it at the speedlimit, and a red sports car with a younger driver just screams "Ticket".

Im thinking about putting my car in the garage for a year, and getting an old beater honda or something. I want something that wouldn't tempt me to go speeding, or do any modifications to it.

What kind of insurance can I put on the BMW to lower my rates significantly, and to allow me to drive it like once a month or so. Also, if say my house were to fall down and crush my car, what insurance would that be covered under?

It's too much fun at the speedlimit? Thus you're forced to speed to make it less fun? What're you trying to say?

If you're the one insuring it, I don't think you can put it at a lower rate.

I guess im trying to say that the car isn't fun when im at the speed limit, and im tempted to take it over too much.

Its not on my insurance, its on my dads USAA policy, which still gives us good rates.

          I need more self control

If you speed in your e30, you'll speed in anything else you get. Every car has the ability to go over the speed limit.

In the long run I hope to save some money. Gas money, insurance, tickets, parts from wear and tear, stuff like that.

I would only buy another car that I can pay for in full, as i still have a few more months to pay back my parents for this one.

I"m setting my M3 to "pleasure vehicle" on my insurance when i get my second car. As long as I put less than 7500miles on it per year, I will only pay $66/month full coverage compared to $166/month f.c. currently.

That's not too bad. I drove about 10k miles last year on the white 325i.

However I probably drove 7500 in 6 months on the black 325i with all of the road trips to Central FL.

You'll be fine in your e30 if you just get a (good) radar detector and watch the road.

Hmmm, that did slip my mind. Probably cheaper too than having to buy a whole nother car....

Passports are up there among the top as i recall, correct?

Yea, I've had the passport 8500 since I started driving and I haven't been pulled over in 2 years. You can get them off ebay for like $270 new.
