Anyone in RI or Mass that's done an S50/52 swap?

I'm trying to decide what to do at the end of the year, refreshen my S14, buy a freshened S14 and turn my S14 into a project for a 2002 chassis or do an S50/S52 swap and use my S14 for a project 2002.
I've never driven/ridden in an E30 with an S5x swap. I'd like to get this experience before I decide which route to go.
Lunch on me. I live in East Providence, work in Canton, Mass.

Hit up Dan Gillian, he has a m50 swap and is pretty close to you, and also has lots of knowledge on bmw's. If i were you, id leave the s14 in the e30 m3, and buy a e30 3 to do a s50 swap too.

Yep, Dan, Jarvis and Brew all have done the swaps. Also, Fredk is doing an s50 swap right now I believe.

I think you should give the s14 to me. I have no real advice to give here. I do however, live in Swansea, so if you need a hand, let me know. E.P. to canton everyday is a friggin haul.

Yeah it's a hike but it pays the bills.

I will be buying a regular E30 soon enough but it's for spece30 so I can't use my s14 in that.

I'm not really interested in any Mxx swaps, just S50/52 swaps.

I will be moving to DC this spring so trying to get a ride before I move. :p

The reason I'm trying to find out now is because I'm thinking of buying the DTM airbox with Alpha-N setup. If I decide the S5x route is the way to go, I'll save that 2k for the engine/trans.

S50 in an e30= 0-60 in sub 5 seconds. Brew is the only one around here that I know of with the s50 swap. I go a ride in it and I could not think of anything else for the rest of the day.

Contact info for tihs guy. I'm not solely concerned with straight line speed, I want to know what the car feels like in the corners and how much it pushes.

An S14 rebuild to 2.3 spec is probably about the same as swapping in a low mileage S52.

                That would be me.

I live in Sudbury and work in Natick. I've got blizzaks on the car right now so it might be tough to judge the handling.

Like a car with an M20. It doesn't make a difference.

i have no idea why everyone with an e30 has to do an s5X swap so they can have e-balls and talk like they have a fast car. Get a job, save some money, stop drinking and smoking, and go buy a damn e36 and leave the fucking e30's alone.

I make 6 figures a year, but thanks for the life advice.

If the S52 makes the car feel more like a beast, then I'll ante up. If it takes away from the joy behind the wheel, I'll continue to tune the s14.

I'm buying a regular e30 as well, but for spec e30, not for fucking daily driving, I don't need e-balls for that.

don't act like a bad ass.

If you want a beast - buy something with 8 cylinders and turbo/SC it. how about a c5 vette? maybe drop the discplacement to a porsche turbo? why fuck around with e30 bmw's when you have cash to blow?

                            I love my e30 m3, but when I have hundreds of K to blow, I'll go buy a 360 - and/or drop a grp A motor in my e30. Not make an 80's icon something it's not.

                            to each his own.

I don't want another road legal car, I want to keep this one for time trials and HPDEs. I was thinking of throwing the s14 into a 2002 and build it up for Targa Newfoundland. I don't want FI, I want all motor, hence starting with an S5x and working form there.

                              Thanks douche.
