This is embarassing, I have a decent string of crappy domestics, and 80's era imports. Wish I had the money to change this list, but I'll bite:
85 Nissan Sentra - Flew off a cliff, totaled. Age 16
    83 Subaru 1800 Wagon - Head-on car accident, totaled. Age 17
Didn't own a car in college or while living in NY, just drove my different g/f's cars:
90 Chevy Cavalier - Ate Power steering fluid, 2 quarts a week.
81 Ford Thunderbird - Beat to shit tank, I rather enjoyed it in the snow though.
    91 Mitsubishi Mirage
95 Chevy Beretta - Fun car, this one was my buddies, but I drove it 5 times more than he did.
89 Ford Escort - Four Old Rusty Doors, but indestructable motor, got me x-country
04 Ford Taurus - Company Car
aquired my 85 325e about here in the timeline, still in parts.
06 Ford Fusion - Company car
    93 Volvo 850 - Current

I've owned over 60 cars since I began driving in 1982, but some were just parts cars. Herewith the list of most of the drivable ones:

1971 Jeep Commando C-101 hardtop, metallic bean green of course $1295
                      1970 Fiat 124 spider $350 rusted away

                      1981 Dodge Charger 2.2 $4195 (what was I thinking?)
                      1967 Jeep CJ5 $1195 (again, what was I thinking?)
1976 Ford Courier pickup (Mazda B1800) overheated, cracked head

It was impractical for being my only car, but I also sold it for a bunch of wrong reasons. I let little stuff (top squeaks, more rattles than I wanted, lack of torque, it's a loud car) get to me that I really shouldn't have. I'm also going through a very stupid automotive ADD time in life, and I just wanted something different.

Vehicles that I have owned.. no particular order:

'78 Pinto - 289 engine swap, 4 on the floor, dual exhaust, Dukes of Hazzard Orange, Cragar S/S wheels, chain steering wheel, shag carpeting - sent off to the junk dealer after blowing the head gasket

'86 Buick Somerset T-Type - 5 spd. manual, digital instrument cluster, black on black with GN trim. - Oil pump failed causing internal engine damage

'77 Pontiac Grand Prix - Lime green, 400 ci engine swap, Cragar Centerline 15x6 wheels on the front, 15x8 on the rear, this was a baaaaaaad @$$ car! - Gave it to a friend who lost it a month later after parking it on the street and getting rear ended by a dump truck.

'71 VW Type 2 (Bus, van, kombi or whatever you wanna call it) Fully outfitted as a conversion van by the previous owner but still needed some upholstery work and paint. I thought I could finish the work but it ended up being more involved than I originally anticipated. I ended up selling it to a VW enthusiast who finished the work.

'77 Cadillac Coupe DeVille - bought in 1996 for $100 as a restoration project but I ended up parting it out and making over $1000 back. As I looked for parts I met several people who wanted the parts that I had. It would have been a nice car but money talks and I figured that it wouldn't be the last car I ever had.

'92 Ford Explorer - Purchased new and was reposessed after I lost my job.

'70 Mercedes Benz 250 - This was another restoration project that I could not finish. The vehicle was in excellent condition mechanically(even the A/C worked!), however the interior was old and dry-rotted and a couple of body panel sections were rusted through. I used it as a daily driver after the explorer was repoed and eventually sold it to the junkyard when the engine died.

1990 G20 Chevy Van - Paid $200 and installed a Jasper engine in it so I could live in a van by the river. Then I soon learned how cold it gets at night so I ended up scrapping that idea.

1997 Nissan Quest - Purchased at an auction to be used as a "beater" for hauling lumber, mulch, dirt and anything else that I wouldn't want to cart around in my new car. But it turned out to be a very nice vehicle that I cannot manage to destroy no matter how hard I try. Every time it breaks down and I am ready to get rid of it, I find out that a $75 repair gets it back on the road.

And Finally... My E30 which is a 1989 325i 4-door. The original owner of my car was a close relative who I happened to be with on the day that he bought it new. Over the years I have driven it and done work on it but I never thought that one day it would be mine.
