    7 series?

I am kinda sick of having a 2 door for my winter car. I want something I can fit all my hockey equipment in.

I'm thinking about a 91 or so 735i. Anything to say about them? what to look for?

do they have a ski pass-through? fold down seats? abs?

    mpg?

    They all have ABS.
Some of the later ones (not 735s) have traction control and damper control.
    Some have a ski-pass through.
None have fold down seats, but if you get a 750...they recline.
    Expect around 23 MPG from a 735i

If you look at an 'iL' beware of the self-leveling rear suspension and power steering systems.
    Beware of transmission issues.

The 735 is somewhat of a slug...but they're the most simple to maintain, and the most bullet-proof.

A 740i is a good compromise. V8 for some decent power, but not too many of the bitchy systems.

I drive a '94 750iL because I'm a glutton for punishment and love v-12 power, but mine only has 70k miles so nothing's really wrong with it.

Even though they don't have fold down seats, they have a HUUUUGE trunk, you will be able to fit everything in.

I fit an entire e30 interior including seats, along with some basketweave wheels in my car...without using the trunk.

Keep in mind that the iL is about 6 inches longer but has many more features (usually) and more to break.

Oh, on an early car like that, sometimes the power seats like to lock up...which is relatively simple to fix.

1st gen. dual zone auto climate control (all 7ers) CAN fail, which is a little expensive to fix depending on the issue. (Sword module is the most common failure)

Light Kontrol Module problems might mean you need to take apart relays or modules to resolder connections.

Get one where everything works. Trust me, things that seem like little problems can turn into HUUUGE issues.

          Long wheelbase.

          Probably includes self-leveling suspension
MAYBE servotronic power steering, I dunno enough about the 735s to say about that for sure.

Make sure that if it does have self-leveling suspension, there are no leaks.
Those rear shocks are $300 a pop.

In a 735 I don't think there's much difference between an 'i' and an 'iL' aside from the size and suspension.

735i or il is a sweet car, totally easy to maintain mechanically, comfy, nice on the highway, and if you lower it an slap on some 18" M Parallels, girls might flash their titties!

any pics of hawt 7's from that generation?

Here, this is where I got inspired to look for a nice 7 series... Lots of decent pictures!

                          Right here, baby

There are some decent technical specs for the different models as well... Kind of a poorly laid out site though.

This here is the bad mamma jamma...

Before I got he e30 I almost bought a 760IL had about 80K on it. I drove it and loved it but didn't catch it in time to buy it.
