    Well hello everyone!

Hey everyone, my name is james, i'm from Australia, and i am now the proud new owner of a 1985 BMW 323i! Picked it up from a personal friend in the buisness for $5000AU, 160,000km and described by the mechinic it was inspected by, as hands down the cleanest 85 he had ever seen. I am so excited and have allready ordered/purchased a few bits and peices, including:

    -JL AUDIO front 6" splits
    -JL AUDIO rear 6x9"
    -Sony XPLOD headunit mp3/cd/ipod player
    -All new badges (black/white) x7
-New tail lights (smoked/red) side (clear) indicators and front (smoked) indictors
-going to looking at a pair of new front sports seats on the week end.
-i also purchased the "101 performance projects for your bmw e30" from
pelican parts, fantastic book, highly recomended.

i look forward to contributing my experiences and knowledge as i come appon it with this forum.
i allready need help installing my audio myself any links greatly appreciated, i will search shortly.

    pics will come soon

    thanks!
    James

Over here you could easly pay double that for a car of the same quality.
Pluss it had a roadworthy certificate (same in US?), which are so hard to come by on an 80's car here, but absolutley essential for a quality purchase

Well here are some pictures as promised!
(sorry, 1st 3 are from phone)

                    1. The car when i got it about a day ago.

                    2.

                    3.

                    4. Other than the seats (springs etc are gone), my filthy seat cover, and the carpet, which could just use a good vacume, the interior is immaculate, no cracks in dash, AC works, all lights work, and the "check" light only flashes SOMETIMES lol.

                    4. My new lights Kit (i know some people dont like these tail ights but i do, i think they are a nice sleek touch and are quite subtle to the untrained eye, plus its my car:p)
                    one of each pictured

                    5. My new stereo (sigh, and now new wire, the old wire turned out to be shit bad... theres another $40 to the pit)

                    6. As it stands now at 11:30pm. just finished all the lights (follwed 'Mr.Anderson's' idea with the front turn signals) fantastic results. will picture tails in the light (too dark now). obviously all lights look alot different during the day.

I may do a DIY tutorial for all the lights if ther's enough interest, i have loads of pics.
                    7.

                    8. And these are the seats i'm going to look at on the weekend. They are recaro look alikes, of coarse i'd like the real thing, but my wallet does not allow. Besides the price is right, so if they function properly (reclining etc), and are remotley comfortable, then they're mine.
Unless of course there is a functional reason not to get them, such as they are too big for e30's or the 'universal rails' wont fit with slight modification.
So please, any info/links appreciated, again, i will search.

so there you go fellas. i'd love some feed back, so shoot away.
Just remember im new therefor emotionaly unstabe, so go easy on me.

                    James

dude the exhaust brand doesnt matter
"turbo mega flow" it doesnt get any better than that.

James, welcome to R3V and E30's.

Go return that head unit. Buy a slightly more expensive version that has "High Pass Filters". You will find a HUGE difference in sound quality, since you are running deck power for the fronts and rears so far.

Hell of a deal for your first car, man!
