Chipping a 325i

You guys ever get tired of fielding my newb questions?

Anyways, got a '89 325i now. Was wondering, first off, if chipping an option for upgrading this motor. Secondly, what do I need to look for when purchasing a chip. Who do you suggest (I know Dinan has been doing chips for years). Also, do I need to do anything else to reap the benefits of a chip? I saw in an earlier post someone mentioned 19# injectors to go with the chip.

First off don't get a Dinan chip...there's two good chips almost everyone will suggest...

You'll need to know your ECU# when ordering either chip. Expect around 10-15hp gains and you'll have to run premium fuel.

MarkD does sell a chip programmed for 19lb injectors if you do want to go that route but I dont know what the hp gains...

I did search for "chip"... it only turned up something like 12 pages. I read through the first 4 pages before I gave up and figured a direct question would be better time management while at work ;)

Well I am still glad that he asked. It gave me something to think about. I might chip my car too.
