Alright, my 5er needs some paint. I've read every scrap on the roll-on-rustoleum paint job I can find, and I'm gonna do it. I know I won't be able to get something thats a 100% match, so I will be taking as much of the body and trim apart as possible to get paint on EVERY visible area minus the engine bay (for now... when the 3.2 comes out for turbotime, I'll go ahead and paint it).
This is the 5 in her current condition:

As you can see, the hood and roof are terrible... It's down to the basecoat or even deeper in many areas. I have considered maybe trying to just paint the hood and roof, but the clearcoat is gone on the tops of the doors (just below the windows, along that body line mostly) and the tops of the front fenders...
That link is for the rustoleum color chart.
I'm debating between charcoal gray, pewter gray, or smoke gray... possibly gloss black, and possibly gloss white. I'm not a huge fan of white E28s though, and I think black tends to hide the overall shape of the car a little too much, not to mention being a pain in the ass when the car lives outside. I think the charcoal gray is the closest to BMW DS, but without metallic, and I am leaning in that direction. Vote!
EDIT: On snap suckas, I just found a SWEET looking gloss white E28... Euro bumpers, T Stars sans covers, and off road suspension apparently... lol... Makes me like white that much more though!!
