Storing the car for 6+ months...

My dad just bought my 325i from me, not too long ago, so I could buy the E28 535i that I now have. Well, he currently lives in Germany, so he doesnt really have much use for the car until he gets back from there (about 7 or 8 months from now).

What Im wondering is, what all do we need to do to store the car for that amount of time. (Sorry, my question mark key isnt working.) Also, when we do store the car for that long (itll be indoors), and we lock the doors, what happens if the battery dies and we cant get into the trunk to put a new battery in. How do we unlock it. Sorry if these are dumb questions. Thanks in advance.

Fill the tank and put STABIL in the fuel tank prior to filling it. Use a battery tender to keep it charged. And get some tire cradles to prevent flat spots from forming on your tires.

Yeah my car has been in storage for 6 months...the trunk is mechanical, so no problems there, diconnect the battery, I start mine once every couple of weeks as well and let it run for a while.

        e28s suck.

Ya, you need to get one of thoes battery things that connects to the battery while it is still on the car and you need like a plastic key that allowed you to turn on and off hte battery so it doesnt die.
My car is in storage also, but only until i start driving school... in about a year

you dont need to start it man.

Just fill it up add Stabil and take out the battery.....you dont really need a tender for 6 mos if you dont want to buy shit for the tires just over inflate them

I am sure Jordan might be able to add to this though.
