Pretty much. if i feel like leaving early i will leave at about 10.
and the weekends is when it will get done. i am pretty handy, so i can chop the whole front end off of both cars in about 8 hours. pulling the engine and reinstalling it would be a bitch, but i have friends that love working on cars, and a dad who wants away from his wife, so he will use this as an excuse to get out of the house. -
If your creative enough to cut two cars in half then weld one back together you have to be creative enough to get a big hammer, a tree, rope, and get your car straight enough to fit some body parts to fit.Leave a comment:

So, your schedule is completely full from 7:30am until midnight every day. When are you planning on completing this project? on the weekends?
I see that's it's not about the money so I guess if this is what makes you happy, then go ahead.

i go to school from 7:30 to 12, then i work from 12:30 to 12 at night. everyday. i know the importance of time. Here's a question for you Mikey? What do you do? I mean, do you have a job, go to school, jack off all day...?
What I'm getting at here is that there are many other things you should be doing besides trying to build this car.
It's not just about the cost to put those cars together, it's about the "opportunity cost". If you add up all the hours that you are going to put into putting that front end on your car, and multiply that by whatever you make per hour, you will quickly see that it makes more sence to go to work for a couple weeks and buy another clean car than it does to sit at home with a welder trying to get this car together.
Of course if you have no job to go to or anything else important to do and would otherwise be sitting at home jacking off, then by all means, go ahead and bust out the torch...

and i could easily afford just about any e30 i want, if i was really looking to zap my savings, (which is just about gone because of my house).
thats not what this build is about. its about committing to something, and sticking to it, and in the end having something that no one else does. thats what doing this would really reward me with.Leave a comment:

wouldnt it be easier to put all that effort into straightening yer frame then? it would be 10x less work that tryn to weld 2 e30's together, and FYI, if u have the late model front valence, thats all you really need (+plastics bumper shocks) to go plastics...the body/mounts and shit are the same.
i did not know thism i thought it was much more in depth than those few pieces. thanks for the info.Leave a comment:

i will be doing this too, but i want that something special that a dd "oh this car is tight, and looks good and i try my damndest to keep perfect and park 40 spots away from everyone else" just cant offer.
i want to hit the dirt sometimes and not have to worry about getting dirt or scratches on the car.Leave a comment:

yes, i already mentioned that i will be purchasing another straight e30 after my 02 SE-R sells. so i will have another E30. and i will want another one. and if i have two junkers, why not combine it to make one junker?sorry... just thinking to myself....
why don't you pull your head out of your ass and buy a clean shell???????? you are being sooo stupid doing that shit! Do you really think your frame is going to be the same strength?? I have an analogy for you! You are like a bull who is trying to open an iron gate! Keep in mind.. this is just what I think to myself ;)
Either way, go for it....Leave a comment:

in that case, stop fuckin around with POS e30's that the rest of us are throwing away on a daily basis, and wait to put yer time and energy into a straight car.Leave a comment:

yes. that is what i am trying to accomplish.I'm lost??? Are you saying your gonna cut off everything forward of the windshield and re weld it to another car? If so I agree it's a losing battle. You'll have to rig a 5th wheel on one of the sides just to get it to go straight. Which car are you fixing up? Take the parts from that white car and slap them on your red car. Get one car built that drives on the street then start thinking about "race cars." Tell Deagle to kick down, You been helping him strip that white one. Grab the front end parts and Fix you $50 dollar car.
I already have a 17 thousand dollar car that i can drive whenever the fuck i want!
you wanna know why i am not driving it? because it is not fun. simple as that.Leave a comment:

as i stated earlier i will be purchasing another straight e30 after my 02 SE-R sells.Well, that changes things a little bit.
In that case, do what Josh said. Sell them both and get a clean car. They're not terribly expensive...
A few years ago I was trying to sell a decent '86 delphin 325. Even for $1000 nobody was willing to pay for it. I would have gone down to $800 or so if someone showed up with cash.
My point is, how much do you value your time? After how many weeks of trying to turn two wrecks into one, you will still end up with a crooked ass beater. Why not shell out a few hundred bucks to get a car that doesn't look like it fell off a cliff.
-Erik
the reason why i would do this is becuase i would have a beater that i could beat to hell, and not feel guilty about. its not what seems logical i could say, but what i think would be fun in the long run.
and golde30, i want the whole front end so plastic bumpers are easy.Leave a comment:
